PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE 2014 CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE

CONSOLIDATED ACTION PLAN

CDBG AND HOME FUNDS

January 17, 2015

Public comment will be received regarding three proposed amendments to the Program Year 2014 Consolidated Action Plan. The amendment will entail increasing the approved activity budget amount for Rehabilitation and reconstruction by utilizing available funding, reallocating funds from an inactive Public Service Agency to active Public Service Agencies, and reallocating funds to the Grand Prairie Community Development Organization from the HOME reconstruction activity. These funding adjustments will increase the amount of citizens served within the City of Grand Prairie.

First, the current CDBG budget amount for single family homeowner Program Year 2014 Rehabilitation and Reconstruction activity is $252,150. Increasing the budget with $394,698 in available funding will result in additional citizens being assisted that need rehabilitation and or reconstruction presently on the waiting list.

Second, there is presently $185,464 in Program Year 2014 HOME Reconstruction funding available. Reallocating this funding to Program Year 2014 Grand Prairie Community Housing Development Organization funding will increase the activity budget amount to $340,464 increasing the number of Affordable Housing units being constructed.

Third, the Grand Prairie Wellness Center has closed. By virtue of this closure the Program Year 2014 allocation to them of $31,296 is available for redistribution. The released amount will be divided equally among the 4 highest ranked Public Service Agencies as designated by the Housing and Community Improvement Commission(HCIC) resulting in an increase of $7,824 for each agency budget allocation.

A public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the City of Grand Prairie   located at 317 College Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050. Public comments will be received on these amendments until February 16, 2015.
